
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc is set to meet with US officials and business leaders during his working visit to the United States.
According to Reuters, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc is scheduled to meet with US Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, and leaders from Boeing, SpaceX, and Apple during his trip to the United States. He will also attend the signing ceremony of a $200 million contract between VietJet and the KKR fund.
The meeting with Secretary Bessent, taking place on the afternoon of April 9 local time, will focus on discussing tax policies and their implications. Immediately following this engagement, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc is expected to meet with Boeing executives and witness the signing of an agreement between VietJet (HOSE: VJC) and the investment firm KKR.
Per Reuters, VietJet will be signing a $200 million financial agreement with an affiliate of the investment firm KKR, with Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer, in attendance. This financial arrangement aims to facilitate VietJet’s aircraft purchases.
Reuters also reports that VietJet is considering ordering an additional 20 wide-body Boeing 787 aircraft to expand its fleet for international routes.
The following day, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc is scheduled to meet with executives from SpaceX, the company founded by billionaire Elon Musk. SpaceX intends to provide its Starlink satellite internet services in Vietnam, pending the navigation of stringent regulations regarding foreign ownership restrictions.
In addition to the meeting with SpaceX, the Deputy Prime Minister is expected to engage with other US companies with production operations in Vietnam, including Intel and Coca-Cola.
