On March 21, Agribank Saigon branch announced the auction of debts incurred in 2011, fully secured by the assets of Hao Huy Trading Co., Ltd. (headquartered at 236 Dinh Tien Hoang, Da Kao Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).
According to Agribank, the book value of the debt in the credit contracts is estimated at nearly VND 134 billion as of February 28, 2025. This includes nearly VND 60 billion in principal and over VND 74 billion in interest.
To recover the debt, Agribank is auctioning off two secured assets: the Elisa ship (registered number SG.3128) and a Camry SE 3.5 car (license plate 51A-113.35) with a starting price of nearly VND 134 billion, equivalent to the book value of the debt.
Agribank stated that Hao Huy Company is currently using the Elisa ship as a restaurant, docked at Saigon Port, No. 5 Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ward 13, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City. The Camry car is also in use and kept at the same address.
The Elisa ship, built in 2007, measures 44.29m in length, 16m in width, 3.5m in hull height, 1.2m in hull depth, and 2.3m in draft. With a steel hull and a 650 CV Mitsubishi engine, it can carry up to 1,000 passengers or 20 tons of cargo.

Elisa Ship is known as the only floating restaurant on the Saigon River and the largest in Vietnam. Unlike other river restaurants, Elisa remains stationary and can accommodate up to 1,000 guests across its five decks. It opens for dinner from 4:30 pm to 10:00 pm, with prices ranging from VND 700,000 to over VND 1 million per person, depending on the menu and additional services.
In another recent move to recover debts by liquidating collateral, Agribank announced on March 26 its plan to auction the debts of D&G Vietnam Co., Ltd..
Specifically, D&G’s debts with Agribank date back to 2019. As of March 17, 2025, the total estimated debt, including principal and interest, exceeded VND 162 billion, with nearly VND 92 billion in principal and almost VND 71 billion in interest (over VND 21 billion in overdue interest).
The collateral for this debt is a eucalyptus plantation in Cao Phong and Da Bac districts of Hoa Binh province, covering an area of over 3,555 hectares, as per the Investment Certificates No. 25121000145 dated March 16, 2019, and No. 25121000107 dated July 11, 2008, granted by the Hoa Binh Provincial People’s Committee.

Eucalyptus trees are large, reaching heights of up to 30 meters and diameters of 120-150 centimeters. In Vietnam, eucalyptus is cultivated for ecological restoration and the production of small timber and wood chips for the paper and particleboard industries.
Agribank is auctioning off the entire eucalyptus plantation with a starting price of over VND 120 billion (excluding taxes) to recover the debt.
Additionally, Agribank is re-evaluating the market value of the debt owed by the Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics and Technology (HIAST) to determine the starting price for a public auction of the debt. The college is currently operating at a minimal level.

According to Agribank, the college’s debt dates back to a credit contract signed in December 2014. As of March 25, 2025, the total estimated debt exceeds VND 143 billion, including nearly VND 100 billion in principal and approximately VND 44 billion in interest.
The secured assets for this debt include the land-use rights and attached assets of the college, located at 138 Ha Huy Giap, Thanh Loc Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City. The land area measures over 6,265 square meters and is designated for educational purposes until November 2, 2062. Additionally, the attached assets comprise two building blocks with a total floor area of more than 2,200 square meters.
