Vietnam Airports Corporation, in collaboration with Quang Binh Province, has held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Terminal T2 at Dong Hoi Airport.
The ceremony was held simultaneously with the groundbreaking and inauguration of other significant projects in the North, Central, and South regions, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and national reunification.
The T2 Terminal construction project is a component of the larger project to build Terminal T2 and expand the aircraft parking area at Dong Hoi Airport. This Group B project, invested in by Vietnam Airports Corporation, will be constructed on an area of over 106,000 square meters, comprising a passenger terminal and auxiliary works, with a total investment of VND 1,750 billion.
The main items of the project include the T2 Terminal, a 2-story building with a mezzanine; roads, internal port traffic routes, and a car parking area; and greenery.
Designed with a capacity to serve 3 million domestic passengers annually, the T2 Terminal also has an expansion plan to increase its capacity to 5 million passengers per year if needed. Dong Hoi Airport is expected to become a new architectural symbol of Quang Binh – known as the “Kingdom of Caves” – a place that boasts exceptional natural and cultural values.

At the ceremony, Vietnam Airports Corporation representatives committed to concentrating all resources and vigorously implementing the project in accordance with legal regulations. They assured the quality of the work, labor safety, environmental sanitation, and timely completion of the project.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Doan Ngoc Lam, Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee, affirmed that the T2 Terminal construction project is a crucial transport infrastructure project, holding great significance for the socio-economic development of Quang Binh Province in particular and the North-Central region in general.
“The construction of Terminal T2 at Dong Hoi Airport has become an urgent task, contributing to sustainable growth momentum for Quang Binh Province,” emphasized Mr. Doan Ngoc Lam. “The completion of Terminal T2 will not only solve infrastructure issues but also open up opportunities for Quang Binh to break through and proactively welcome investment waves, achieving sustainable development in the future.”
