According to the latest report from the Statistics Bureau, an estimated total of 56,563 new automobiles, including domestically produced and imported vehicles, were added to the Vietnamese market in April, an increase of approximately 4.8% from March (53,960 units).

Of these, the domestic automobile production and assembly output in April is estimated at 39,500 units, up 3.7% from March (38,100 units) and a significant 60.0% increase from April 2024. This was the month with the highest automobile production volume in the first four months of 2025.

Cumulatively, from the beginning of 2025 until now, domestic automobile manufacturers have produced an estimated total of 147,300 units, a substantial 76.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This high production volume reflects the significant efforts made by domestic automobile manufacturers right from the start of 2025.

Imported automobiles also witnessed a notable increase, with 17,063 vehicles imported, amounting to a trade value of 423 million USD. This represents a 7.6% increase in volume and a considerable 28.2% surge in value compared to the previous month. Accumulated over the first four months of 2025, an estimated 63,520 automobiles have been imported completely built-up into Vietnam, with a value of approximately 1.4 billion USD. This reflects a 45.2% increase in volume and a 50.7% rise in value compared to the same period in 2024.
