Noi Bai International Airport saw approximately 108,379 departing and arriving passengers, including 64,254 domestic and 44,125 international passengers. There were a total of 602 flights, consisting of 325 domestic and 277 international flights.
Compared to regular flight schedules, passenger traffic increased by 22.6%. Specifically, domestic passenger numbers rose by 29.4%, while international passengers increased by 13.9%. This represents a 25.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the leadership of Noi Bai International Airport, the peak hours of the day occurred between 9-10 am, 11 am-12 pm, 3-4 pm, and 6-7 pm. The airport recommends that passengers arrange their travel time in advance to avoid congestion and flight delays.
To expedite the check-in process, passengers flying on domestic Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet flights from Noi Bai can use biometric identification through the VNeID application, which is now available at security screening lanes in Zone C and E, as well as at departure gates in Terminal 1.
Meanwhile, Tan Son Nhat Airport recorded a total of 729 flights (365 departures and 364 arrivals), serving more than 110,000 passengers. The newly inaugurated Terminal 3 alone is expected to handle 51 flights and 11,537 passengers. Passengers departing from Terminal 3 can use the VNeID application for check-in without physical identification documents.
Mr. Uong Viet Dung, Director of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, attributed the efficient handling of the increased passenger volume to the implementation of facial recognition technology through VNeID at both Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports. “Despite the surge in passenger numbers, our improved infrastructure and modern technology have ensured stable operations without any signs of local congestion,” he asserted.
