In recent days, KFC Vietnam has noticed a surge in fake social media accounts impersonating the brand and its restaurant branches, especially on Facebook and TikTok. These accounts spread misleading and inappropriate content, causing serious misunderstandings among customers and damaging the brand’s image, which has been built over 27 years in Vietnam.

“KFC always puts customer experience first by strictly reviewing content and clearly communicating information. Statements from these unofficial channels not only harm our reputation but also erode our customers’ trust,” a KFC representative shared.

Similarly, Jollibee also warned about the presence of fake accounts on social media, especially TikTok. These accounts have been illegally using the brand’s name and images to spread false information, affecting customers’ experiences and trust.

“We only announce official information through our verified and directly managed channels,” Jollibee emphasized in its statement.

These accounts are believed to be impersonating the brands of KFC and Jollibee.

Both brands urge customers to be cautious when receiving and sharing information on social media and encourage them to verify the source of the information through official channels whenever necessary.

A few hours after KFC and Jollibee’s announcements, Texas Chicken, another popular fried chicken brand, also released a statement regarding the emergence of fake accounts on social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok. These imposter accounts not only illegally use the brand’s logo, images, and name but also risk misinforming customers, impacting their choices and experiences.

As of 2024, KFC Vietnam remains the leading fast-food brand in the country, with over 230 branches nationwide. According to the Decision Lab Best F&B Rankings 2024, KFC scored 27.5 points, maintaining its top position in Vietnam’s F&B industry. The brand focuses on enhancing customer experience, maintaining its wide reach, and regularly updating its communication campaigns to strengthen its image.

Jollibee also witnessed impressive growth in 2024, officially crossing the 200-store milestone in Vietnam. The Vietnamese market plays a significant role in the company’s global revenue, contributing to a 10.6% growth with a total revenue of $4.7 billion. Specifically, Jollibee’s sales in Vietnam increased by 16.8% in the past year. The brand also ranked 8th in the list of the most prominent F&B brands in Vietnam, scoring 15.2 points.

Texas Chicken currently operates approximately 30 branches in major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, Hai Phong, Binh Duong, and Bien Hoa. While it hasn’t expanded as extensively as its competitors, Texas Chicken is steadily enhancing its brand image and service quality. In 2024, Texas Chicken was recognized as one of the top five F&B brands with the most significant score improvements in the Decision Lab rankings, thanks to its focus on fresh chicken quality and unique flavors.
