The tech community is abuzz with a new rumor: Apple’s first foldable iPhone may feature a Samsung-developed display technology that the latter has not yet used for its own Galaxy Z Fold devices.
According to leaker Yeux1122, Apple is aiming to integrate a display panel with a unique design that differs from the rest of the foldable phone market. The highlight is a touch sensor that is integrated directly into the display layer instead of being a separate layer as seen in current foldable devices. This approach is believed to reduce the display thickness by approximately 19% compared to Samsung’s current implementation, resulting in a lighter and more portable device.
Apple is known for its stringent component procurement standards, and this time, they seem to have requested Samsung to create a new display standard that meets multiple criteria. Apart from thinness, the new panel is rumored to offer higher brightness, improved color reproduction, and, most notably, minimal folding marks.

The leaker also revealed that the inner display of the foldable iPhone could measure up to 7.76 inches with a resolution of 2713 x 1920 pixels. The outer display is expected to be 5.49 inches. The camera setup is speculated to be a combination of an under-display camera and a hole-punch camera at the front.
Samsung is rumored to be the exclusive display provider for this foldable iPhone, although Apple had previously considered LG as well. This could explain why the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 might also be adjusted to feature this new technology as part of the behind-the-scenes collaboration between the two tech giants.
The expected price range for the foldable iPhone is said to be between $2,100 and $2,300 (approximately over 55 million VND). According to sources, the launch timeframe is predicted to be late 2026 or early 2027. While foldable phones have not yet seen explosive sales, Apple’s entry into the market with a revolutionary product could change the entire game.
As Huawei experiments with a triple-screen foldable, and Oppo and Honor aim for ultra-thin devices, Apple takes a different path. They don’t need to be the first, but if the foldable iPhone arrives with never-before-seen technology from Samsung, Apple could turn what was once a limitation into a new explosion on the mobile technology map.
