On May 9th, the Investigation Police Agency (IPA) of Phu Tho Provincial Police took emergency custody and arrest measures against Le Hoang Thang and Hoang Hai Long for “Violating regulations on research, exploration, and exploitation of natural resources.” They also conducted urgent searches of their residences.
The initial investigation revealed that in late April 2025, Hoang Hai Long purchased over 1-hectare of productive forest land from Mr. Dinh Van Trang, born in 1986, in Chieng Noi, Thanh Son district. Subsequently, Le Hoang Thang and Hoang Hai Long colluded to hire excavators and cars to illegally exploit the land for unlawful profits.
Based on the evidence gathered during the investigation and the information reported by Vietnam Television on May 8th, the IPA of Phu Tho Provincial Police determined that the actions of Le Hoang Thang and Hoang Hai Long violated regulations on natural resource exploration and exploitation. They proceeded to arrest the two individuals and temporarily seized the excavators and cars used in their illegal mineral exploitation activities.

The arrest and criminal handling of these individuals demonstrate the resolute action taken by the Phu Tho Provincial Police in combating violations related to mineral resource exploitation, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, and the People’s Committee of Phu Tho province.
The Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Provincial Police is continuing its investigation and will handle related individuals in accordance with the law.
