The Investigative Police Agency of Quang Ninh Province has decided to initiate legal proceedings, prosecute and detain Nguyen Quoc Tu (born 2001, residing in Group 62, Area 5, Cao Xanh Ward, Ha Long City) for the charge of embezzlement of assets according to the Penal Code.
According to initial investigation results, Nguyen Quoc Tu was employed by FPT Retail Joint Stock Company (FPT Retail, stock code: FRT) as a multi-tasking sales employee. During his work, Tu was assigned to collect and manage the store’s business money and periodically submit it to the company as regulated.
However, taking advantage of his assigned tasks, Nguyen Quoc Tu embezzled more than VND 200 million from customers for personal use and then fled.
At present, the Investigative Police Agency of Quang Ninh Province is consolidating the case file to handle the accused in accordance with the law.
This case serves as a reminder for businesses to strengthen their recruitment and labor management processes, especially for positions related to finance, in order to promptly detect and prevent violations and minimize the risk of asset loss.
