A video has emerged on social media showing a unique sight at Terminal 3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport, where water could be seen dripping from the glass roof onto the floor below. Airport staff were seen cleaning up the water as passengers continued to walk by and wait for their flights.

This incident came as a surprise to many, as Terminal 3 is the most modern terminal in the country, having only begun operations in April this year.

According to the NLD, the leak occurred in the departure area where passengers wait for their flights.

On May 8, a representative from the T3 Terminal Management Board confirmed that the incident took place on the afternoon of May 7 following heavy rainfall. The leak was attributed to a gap in the adhesive used for the glass roof.

“The prolonged hot weather and high temperatures had affected the quality of the adhesive, and as the construction was ahead of schedule, there hadn’t been an opportunity to test it thoroughly,” the representative explained. “This was a minor incident caused by a gap in the adhesive on the glass roof and not a reflection of the quality of the structure. We have taken immediate action to fix it by re-applying the adhesive.”

When asked if the leak would recur if Ho Chi Minh City experienced more heavy rainfall, the representative assured that the issue had been resolved and there should be no further leaks.

Terminal 3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport was inaugurated on April 19, marking a significant milestone for Ho Chi Minh City and the country. With a total investment of nearly VND 11,000 billion, the terminal became operational after just over 20 months of construction, two months ahead of schedule.
