According to the report, the Ministry of Public Security has been vigorously implementing solutions to reduce social order crimes. They have focused on combating organized crime, transnational crime, “black credit” crime, high-tech crime, cybercrime, human trafficking, and crimes involving child abuse and violence.

The police force has proactively identified new criminal methods and improved propaganda work to create a “resistance” for collectives and individuals. They have enhanced the efficiency of crime prevention and control, investigating and solving 24,021 social order crimes, with a resolution rate of 75.06%.

Serious and very serious cases have been promptly investigated and resolved; 28 criminal gangs have been busted; 896 cases involving 978 defendants related to “black credit” have been prosecuted; 542 cases involving 628 offenders and 564 child victims have been handled; and 1,938 wanted persons have been arrested, persuaded to turn themselves in, or eliminated (including 814 dangerous and especially dangerous subjects).

In terms of economic, corruption, smuggling, and environmental crime prevention, the police have discovered 512 cases involving 1,057 corrupt officials; 2,847 cases involving 4,822 individuals and one organization in economic management order violations.

The authorities have handled 45 cases of smuggling, 1,411 cases of production, storage, transportation, and trade of prohibited goods, 75 cases of production and trade of counterfeit goods, and 110 cases of tax evasion. They have also dealt with 327 cases involving 404 individuals and seven organizations in environmental and food safety crimes, including 48 environmental pollution cases and 31 food safety violations.

Regarding the fight against high-tech crimes, the Ministry of Public Security has focused on dismantling syndicates and uncovering new schemes related to fraud, gambling, multi-level marketing, virtual currency and foreign currency trading, and securities on the cyber space. They have addressed the buying and selling of personal data, hijacking of systems, and theft of assets from individuals and businesses online.

“More than 17,000 websites and social media accounts related to illegal activities have been reviewed and blocked,” the report stated.

However, the Ministry of Public Security also acknowledged the complexities in maintaining social order and safety, with the emergence of new criminal methods and the extensive use of cyber space and high technology for illegal activities.

Moving forward, the Ministry of Public Security will continue to implement comprehensive solutions to ensure traffic order, safety, and reduce accidents and congestion. They will also focus on fire prevention and encourage the public to actively participate in fire prevention and firefighting efforts.

Additionally, the police force will undertake new tasks, including ensuring aviation security, managing cyber information safety, conducting driving tests and issuing driving licenses, providing legal records, and managing drug rehabilitation and post-rehabilitation activities.
