On May 7th, the Criminal Investigation Division of the Quang Nam Provincial Police delivered the decision to prosecute and arrest Nguyen Thanh Dat (born 1998, residing in Trung Phuoc ward, Que Son district, Quang Nam province) for fraudulently appropriating 3.7 billion VND from Ms. TTTN (residing in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province).

Executing the decision to prosecute and arrest Nguyen Thanh Dat.

The investigation results determined that Nguyen Thanh Dat himself owed others 3 billion VND, which led to his intention to provide false information to borrow money from others to repay his debts.

Knowing that Ms. TTTN was an acquaintance who could lend him money, Dat met with her on the afternoon of February 13, 2025, and asked to borrow 3.7 billion VND. He deceitfully claimed that he needed the money for bank loan procedures and promised to repay it on February 14th. Ms. TTTN, believing his story, agreed to the loan.

After receiving the money, Dat used it to settle his personal debts instead of for the stated purpose. When the due date arrived, he failed to repay the loan, prompting Ms. TTTN to file a report.

The case is currently under further investigation and handling by the Criminal Police Division in accordance with legal regulations.
