VinFast has been accelerating its presence in Indonesia over a year after entering the market, rapidly expanding its distribution network, charging stations, and after-sales services across the archipelago. On May 9, V-GREEN, a member of the VinFast ecosystem, signed an MOU with four strategic partners: Chargecore, Chargepoint, Amarta Group, and CVS. The partnership aims to deploy 63,000 charging ports across Indonesia by 2025, doubling its initial target with a total investment of $300 million. These charging stations will be available from May onwards in key provinces, including Jabodetabek, Bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, Batam, Bali, and Kalimantan.

V-GREEN will directly invest in 20% of the charging stations, while the remaining 80% will be developed through business collaborations with partners. The first stations are set to operate from June onwards. Notably, VinFast vehicle owners in Indonesia can already enjoy free charging at over 1,000 stations starting this month.

In late April, VinFast delivered 400 VF 3 cars to dealers and customers in Indonesia. Simultaneously, the company signed an agreement with PT Aribi Amartapura (Amarta), a prominent Indonesian distributor, to open an additional 22 showrooms from 2025 to 2027, with 11 showrooms scheduled to open this year. Currently, VinFast offers four electric vehicle models in the Indonesian market: VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, and VF e34.

In terms of after-sales services, VinFast has partnered with PT Oto Klix Indonesia, a company with a network of 900 workshops. Through this collaboration, VinFast will utilize 150 workshops by 2025, 40 of which are already operational as of April. PT Oto Klix Indonesia will also distribute genuine VinFast parts and provide maintenance and repair services for VinFast electric vehicles, ensuring the highest standards.

VinFast’s strategy in Indonesia goes beyond vehicle distribution and infrastructure development. The company is also focused on local production, with Ms. Duong Thi Thu Trang, VinFast’s Deputy CEO of Global Sales, sharing their plans to complete an assembly plant in the country soon. Additionally, VinFast launched its electric taxi service, Xanh SM, in Indonesia in December 2024, utilizing 100% electric vehicles manufactured by VinFast. This service is part of the comprehensive green ecosystem that VinFast is developing in this market of 300 million people.
