Vietjet Air has confirmed that it will no longer offer or sell ritual items on flights to Con Dao (Ba Ria-Vung Tau). A representative from the airline provided this information in response to a query from VTC News.
In addition, Vietjet has imposed restrictions on the amount of luggage passengers can carry. The airline is not accepting checked baggage, and each passenger is limited to 7kg of carry-on luggage.
“This is due to the aircraft’s weight limitations. Currently, the flights to Con Dao are operated using the Comac aircraft, which is a smaller 90-seat plane with limited capacity,”
the representative explained.

Vietjet utilizes the Comac aircraft, manufactured in China, for its Con Dao flights.
Prior to this update, Vietjet had announced the commencement of flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Con Dao starting April 19. Con Dao is a renowned spiritual destination, known for its Hang Duong Cemetery and the tomb of the heroic Vo Thi Sau.
Recognizing the growing trend of pilgrimage travel, Vietjet swiftly introduced an add-on service called “Con Dao Ritual Kit,” which passengers could purchase immediately after booking their flights. Each passenger was allowed to order a maximum of two ritual kits.
The airline’s packages ranged in price from 450,000 VND to 6.4 million VND. The most affordable option, the “Phuc An” green kit, cost 450,000 VND and included a basic ritual set with items such as a rattan towel, incense, conical hat, cake, basket, and more.
The two more luxurious packages, “Phuc Tai” and “Phuc Thinh,” were priced at 2.6 million VND and 6.4 million VND respectively, and included higher-end and more specialized ritual items.
