The Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB – ACB: MCK) has recently announced that the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has approved its plan to increase its charter capital.

Specifically, the SBV has agreed to ACB’s proposal to raise its capital by a maximum of nearly VND 6,700 billion through a stock dividend.

This plan was approved by the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on April 8, 2025. Following the issuance, the bank’s charter capital will increase from VND 44,667 billion to a maximum of VND 51,367 billion. The capital increase is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2025.

At the meeting, ACB’s Board of Directors emphasized the importance of this capital increase to strengthen the bank’s long-term capital sources for credit activities and government bond investments. It will also provide additional funds for infrastructure development, strategic projects, and enhancing the bank’s financial capacity to adapt to market fluctuations.

In other news, ACB has recently updated its list of shareholders owning over 1% of its charter capital.

Specifically, Ms. Nguyen Thien Huong Jenny has increased her ownership in ACB to over 63.2 million shares, equivalent to 1.416%. The number of shares held by related parties of Ms. Nguyen Thien Huong Jenny exceeds 111.5 million, representing 2.497% of ACB’s capital.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hieu Johnny has also increased his stake in ACB to over 51 million shares (equivalent to 1.142%). Related parties of Mr. Nguyen Duc Hieu Johnny currently hold over 123.7 million shares, representing 2.77% of the bank’s capital.

It is known that Nguyen Thien Huong Jenny and Nguyen Duc Hieu Johnny are the two children of Ms. Ngo Thu Thuy, Chairwoman of Au Lac Corporation.

Previously, according to ACB’s supplementary disclosure on shareholders holding 1% or more of its charter capital as of September 10, 2024, Thien Huong International Education Village Joint Stock Company held nearly 58.6 million ACB shares, equivalent to 1.3% of its capital. Related parties to this enterprise held over 107.7 million shares, representing 2.4% of ACB’s capital.

Thien Huong International Education Village is a member of the Au Lac ecosystem, led by female tycoon Ngo Thu Thuy, who currently serves as the Chairwoman of this enterprise.

Thus, the three shareholders related to the Au Lac group have increased their ownership in ACB from 3.724% to nearly 3.86%.
