The American electronics corporation, Key Tronic, has released its financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2025 (January-March 2025). Unprecedented and constant changes in tariffs have impacted their clients’ businesses.
According to Brett Larsen, CEO of Key Tronic, the uncertainty surrounding tariffs has caused hesitation and disruptions in their clients’ operations.
To provide their clients with more options to navigate current and future tariffs, Key Tronic is expanding its operations in Arkansas, Mexico, and Vietnam.
The new facilities are expected to be operational in the first half of fiscal 2026 (latter half of calendar year 2025), as shared by Mr. Larsen.
This move reaffirms Key Tronic’s commitment to Vietnam, especially after the corporation announced plans to increase capacity in the country back in February 2025, amidst rising tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on Mexico and China (followed by global tariffs announced in April).
Key Tronic’s report (NASDAQ: KTCC) also revealed a net loss of $4.4 million in the first three quarters of fiscal 2025 (June 2024-March 2025), a significant increase from the near $1 million loss in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Similarly, the company’s revenue for this period decreased by 19% to $357.4 million from $440.4 million.
Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Washington state, Key Tronic began as a keyboard manufacturer. Evolving from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), the company has become a renowned provider of industrial design and manufacturing services.
In 2019, the Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority granted an investment registration certificate to Key Tronic with a total investment of $70 million to build an electronics manufacturing and assembly plant in the expanded Hoa Khanh Industrial Park. The project focuses on producing automotive signal lamps for export, with an annual capacity of 100 million units.
