Xanh SM Leads Vietnam’s Ride-Hailing Market with a 39.85% Market Share, as per the Latest Report from Mordor Intelligence
Xanh SM Excels in All Three Key Criteria
According to Mordor Intelligence’s Q1 2025 research report on Vietnam’s ride-hailing and taxi market, Xanh SM dominates in daily ride volume, gross merchandise value (GMV), and customer satisfaction.
User surveys conducted in Q1 2025 highlighted Xanh SM’s strengths, including clean vehicles, courteous drivers, a user-friendly booking process, and an easy-to-use app. The implementation of the proactive safety monitoring system (S2S) across all vehicles has also enhanced customer confidence and trust.
Xanh SM’s top position was anticipated by many customers, given the increasing popularity of the Vietnamese all-electric taxi service in various provinces and cities, along with its consistently high-quality five-star service. “I always feel secure when riding with Xanh SM. Their vehicles are clean, and their drivers are well-mannered. With the addition of the safety monitoring system, I feel even more at ease,” shared Le Thu Trang from Cau Giay District, Hanoi.
For frequent business travelers like Tran Manh Cuong from Ho Chi Minh City, nationwide coverage and consistent quality are significant advantages. “Xanh SM is available in most major provinces and cities, which is very convenient for my work trips and meetings with partners. The quality of their vehicles and services remains consistent,” he asserted.
Setting New Standards in Passenger Transportation
Xanh SM offers more than just a comfortable and safe traveling experience; it has become the go-to choice for environmentally conscious consumers. As air pollution worsens, Xanh SM’s electric taxis are a proactive choice for many Vietnamese who want to contribute to a greener environment.
In 2024, Xanh SM users reduced emissions by nearly 150 million kg of CO2, equivalent to the annual photosynthesis of seven million trees. This amount corresponds to an area of over 2,300 hectares of forest land.
Thus, beyond meeting user demands, the all-electric taxi model is recognized as a positive influence on urban infrastructure, helping reduce emissions, noise pollution, and traffic congestion. Vietnam’s National Green Growth Strategy for 2021–2030 aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector by at least 30% by 2030, with electric and clean energy vehicles playing a pivotal role in achieving this goal.
From a holistic perspective, urban transport expert Nguyen Duc Thinh believes that Xanh SM’s leading position in the market goes beyond smart business strategies. It signifies a positive shift towards sustainable mobility in Vietnam, setting a new standard for the passenger transportation industry.
