Vinfast Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Now Available at Vinh International Airport

In a recent announcement, the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) shared that Vinh International Airport (HKQT) has officially introduced Vinfast electric vehicle charging stations, marking a significant step forward in the development of green and modern transportation infrastructure. Notably, Vinh International Airport is the first among ACV’s network of 22 airports to implement this eco-friendly initiative.
The charging infrastructure at the airport consists of 10 dual charging stations with a capacity of 60kW each, and 2 dual fast-charging stations with a capacity of 120kW. This makes it the largest installation of Vinfast electric vehicle charging stations in Nghe An province to date.
Commenting on this development, a representative from Vinh International Airport shared, “The early installation of Vinfast electric vehicle charging stations at our airport demonstrates our commitment, and that of the Vietnam Airports Corporation – ACV, to reducing CO2 emissions and contributing to a greener airport. This concrete step aligns with our sustainable development strategy and our vision to establish Vinh International Airport as a leading ‘green airport,’ enhancing service quality and offering the best experience to our passengers, while also actively protecting the environment and adapting to the inevitable energy transition taking place globally.”
Looking ahead, Vinh International Airport plans to continue exploring and implementing green technology solutions, underscoring its strong commitment to sustainable development and environmental responsibility, in line with the global trend towards a greener future.
According to ACV’s plans for 2025, three projects for the repair and upgrade of the airport’s runway, terminal, and aircraft parking areas are expected to be completed, with a total investment of nearly VND 1,000 billion. The expansion and improvement of the aircraft parking area to accommodate nine parking spots for Code C aircraft (such as Airbus A320 and A321) is slated to begin before April 30, 2025, and is expected to be completed by December 2025, with an investment of VND 236.63 billion.
The renovation of the existing T1 passenger terminal is scheduled to commence before April 30, 2025, and will be completed by December 2025. With an approved investment of VND 68.36 billion, the project will enhance the terminal’s capacity to handle 3 to 3.5 million passengers annually by 2030.
Additionally, the repair of the existing 2,400-meter-long and 45-meter-wide runway, along with two taxiways, brake strips, and safety areas, is estimated to cost more than VND 623 billion. The Vinh Airport is expected to be closed for this project starting June 30, 2025, with operations resuming by December 31, 2025.
