Vietnam Airlines Moves All Domestic Flights to Tan Son Nhat Airport’s T3 Terminal

On the morning of May 14, Tan Son Nhat International Airport announced that all Vietnam Airlines domestic flights will be operated from Terminal T3 starting at 4 am on May 17.

Prior to this, Vietnam Airlines had trial operations for certain routes such as Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi and Van Don at T3 Terminal for over 20 days. After the trial period, the airline decided to move all remaining domestic routes to the new terminal.

Meanwhile, other carriers such as VietJet Air, Pacific Airlines, Vasco, Vietravel Airlines, and Bamboo Airways, along with ATR72 flights with VN codes (to Con Dao, Ca Mau, and Rach Gia) will continue to operate from Terminal T1 (old domestic terminal).

Passengers checking in at Tan Son Nhat Airport’s T3 Terminal

Notably, the relocation of operations to T3 Terminal in recent days has caused confusion among passengers. There have been cases where Vietnam Airlines passengers and those of other carriers mistakenly went to the wrong terminal.

To avoid such mistakes, airlines advise passengers to carefully check the terminal information on their tickets, websites, or mobile applications before departing.

In case passengers go to the wrong terminal, they can use the free shuttle bus service connecting T1, T2, and T3 (with a frequency of 10-20 minutes per trip), or opt for ride-hailing services or taxis, with an estimated travel time of 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Terminal T3 was inaugurated on April 19, after more than 20 months of construction. It is one of the key infrastructure projects in Ho Chi Minh City, with a total investment of nearly VND 11,000 billion, aiming to significantly reduce the burden on the existing T1 Terminal.
