On May 10, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting regarding the adjustment of the investment policy for the construction of Gia Binh Airport (Bac Ninh province) for national defense and security purposes, upgrading it to a 4E international airport. He also discussed the development of a direct route connecting the airport to the center of Hanoi.

Previously, the Prime Minister had emphasized that constructing a dual-use 4E airport in Gia Binh would alleviate the burden on the overcrowded Noi Bai Airport, which has limited expansion options. He asserted that building a modern, synchronized, and grand airport, along with a direct route to Hanoi’s center, would contribute to decongesting traffic, enhancing the landscape, and adding a new facet to the capital city of Hanoi and Bac Ninh province. He underlined that these projects would be landmark undertakings, signifying the nation’s advancement and elevated status in the new era.

The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Public Security, Hanoi city, Bac Ninh province, and relevant agencies to exert efforts to complete the projects in time for the APEC 2027 events.
