The Dau River Bridge is the main item of the project for the construction of the coastal road passing through Ninh Binh province (phase I). The project was approved by the Provincial People’s Council in Resolution No. 41/NQ-HĐND dated September 30, 2019, and invested by the Provincial People’s Committee in Decision No. 1358/QĐ-UBND dated November 4, 2020. The total investment is over VND 682 billion from the central and local budgets.

The bridge is 1.2 km long, with a width of 12 m and consists of 22 spans, applying the balanced cantilever casting technology – one of the most advanced techniques currently used in the construction of large bridges over rivers. The foundation uses bored piles with a maximum length of over 100 m, ensuring high durability in complex hydrological conditions.

The total length of the two-way approach roads is 3.25 km, designed according to plain III road standards, with a speed of 80 km/h and a road width of 12 m, providing convenient and safe traffic conditions.

Accelerating to meet the deadline on the National Day

At the ceremony, Mr. Pham Quoc Chinh, Director of the Project Management Unit for Transport Construction Works of Ninh Binh province, emphasized: “Immediately after the topping-out ceremony, the Management Board will coordinate with related units to develop a detailed schedule for the remaining tasks, increase machinery and manpower, and organize overtime work, even during holidays. We strive to complete the entire project by the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, 2025.”

Once completed, the Dau River Bridge will not only play a crucial role in completing Ninh Binh’s strategic transport network but also connect the coastal economic corridor between Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, and Thanh Hoa provinces. It will create a seamless transport link, supporting the development of marine economy, tourism, logistics services, and inter-provincial trade.

The project also holds special significance in enhancing climate change resilience, ensuring national defense and security in the region, and contributing to the stability and sustainable development of the southern Red River Delta coastal area.

The project is a clear testament to Ninh Binh province’s determination to invest in synchronous and modern infrastructure, gradually realizing the goal of building Ninh Binh into a heritage city and a centrally-run city by 2035.
