The iPhone 16 Pro Max sees the biggest price adjustment since its launch in Vietnam, with authorized Apple retailers slashing prices.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max has witnessed a significant drop in price across authorized Apple retailers (AARs) in Vietnam, with the standard 256 GB model now listed as low as 29.79 million VND at 24hStore. This marks the first time the device has fallen below the “over 30 million” threshold since the beginning of 2025.

Other AARs with larger market shares offer the same model for slightly higher prices, ranging from 30.19 to 30.79 million VND, depending on their promotional strategies and distribution channels. Specifically, retailers like Minh Tuan Mobile, Hoang Ha Mobile, and Viettel Store sell the device for 30.19 million VND, while shops like ShopDunk, CellphoneS, The Gioi Di Dong, and FPT Shop offer it for 300,000 to 500,000 VND more.

The price adjustment also extends to the higher storage variants of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, with the 512 GB and 1 TB models now approximately 2 to 3 million VND cheaper than last month.

According to a representative from one of the AARs, this price correction is influenced by several factors, including a post-holiday slowdown in demand after the recent 30/4-1/5 holidays, increased inventory levels, and competition from newly launched high-end Android devices.

“Customers now have a wide range of options in the 25-30 million VND price range. While iPhone has its unique appeal, consumers are becoming more considerate in their choices. A price reduction is necessary to stimulate demand,” the representative added.

Additionally, with Apple’s upcoming launch of new iPhone models in September, the market is already seeing early clearance sales. Even non-AAR stores are offering deep discounts, along with gifts or vouchers, to attract buyers.

Industry insiders believe that the psychological threshold of 30 million VND is crucial for Vietnamese consumers. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max have also seen slight price drops, hovering around 26 million and 23 million VND, respectively, narrowing the gap with the iPhone 16 Pro Max and giving buyers more reasons to consider an upgrade.

As of May 2025, the Vietnamese market offers six different iPhone models, from the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 16, through official channels. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max remain the flagship devices, receiving priority in terms of supply and display. In contrast, older models like the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 are facing stockouts, with limited options available. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 are still available but are being cleared out by retailers, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 boast the most stable supply, especially the latter with its full range of options from the base model to the Pro and Pro Max variants.

Overall, while Vietnamese consumers still have a variety of official iPhone options, the sub-10 million VND segment, once popular with the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12, is shrinking as these models have been discontinued and are no longer being replenished.
