On May 12, Lam Dong Provincial Police arrested Tau Sa Chin (24 years old, from Phuoc Ha, Phan Rang-Thap Cham City, Ninh Thuan Province) in connection with a bank robbery that took place at a bank branch in Lien Nghia town, Duc Trong District.

Suspect Tau Sa Chin was arrested about an hour after the robbery.

Initial information suggests that in the afternoon of the same day, Chin entered the bank in Lien Nghia town wearing a jacket, carrying a backpack, and with his face covered. He then took out a bottle of gasoline from his backpack and placed it on the bank’s transaction counter, threatening the staff.

Quick-thinking bank employees triggered the alarm, causing Chin to panic and flee. As he reached the entrance, a security guard tried to stop him, but dropped his stun gun, which Chin then picked up and used to threaten those around him.

The bank robber then fled on his motorcycle towards National Highway 20, heading towards Ho Chi Minh City. At the Ta Hine intersection, he turned onto National Highway 28 towards Binh Thuan Province. The authorities pursued and apprehended Tau Sa Chin less than an hour after the robbery.
