VNPT and Vingroup Sign MOU for Green and Digital Transformation

VNPT and Vingroup Join Forces for Green and Digital Transformation

On May 14th, VNPT and Vingroup officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost their green and digital transformation journey, with a shared vision to contribute to a greener Vietnam.

This partnership stems from the continuous innovation and commitment of both VNPT and Vingroup to create a world-class ecosystem of products and services, enhancing the quality of life for Vietnamese people and elevating the reputation of Vietnamese brands globally.

As per the agreement, both parties will prioritize the utilization of each other’s services and goods, jointly promoting potential projects for mutual benefit to achieve green and sustainable development goals.

Specifically, VNPT will provide tailored telecommunications and information technology solutions to all Vingroup’s ecosystem companies nationwide. In return, VNPT encourages its employees to prioritize Vingroup’s products and services, especially those designed exclusively for VNPT staff, including VinFast electric vehicles, to accelerate green transportation.

As shared on their website, VNPT, with its restructured business, has nearly 40,000 employees, advanced telecommunications infrastructure, and a nationwide network covering all 63 provinces. They are Vietnam’s leading postal and telecommunications service provider, serving approximately 30 million mobile subscribers, nearly 10 million fixed-line subscribers, and tens of millions of internet users.

VNPT and Vingroup will collaborate on developing VinFast’s charging stations. VinFast/V-Green will prioritize developing charging stations at VNPT’s branches nationwide, utilizing VNPT’s construction, operation, maintenance, and electric vehicle charging services for VinFast cars domestically and internationally.

Vingroup and its ecosystem companies will also prioritize VNPT’s ecosystem of products and services, including telecommunications, information technology solutions, and digital services, as well as high-tech industrial production.

Vingroup will preferentially select VNPT and its subsidiaries as partners for investment, infrastructure development, and the provision of telecommunications and information technology services in all projects owned by Vingroup or its member companies.

Additionally, both parties will actively cooperate in research and development, technology transfer, and design support to integrate VNPT into the VinFast/VinGroup supply chain, leveraging VNPT’s strengths in telecommunications, information technology, digital services, and high-tech industrial production.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup, shared that Vingroup recognizes its responsibility and pioneering role in accompanying the business community and society as a whole in the green transformation journey. She expressed her belief that the collaboration between Vingroup and VNPT will create a synergistic impact, spreading positive values and contributing to Vietnam’s sustainable development.

Mr. To Dung Thai, Chairman of VNPT, echoed these sentiments, stating that this event not only marks a higher level of bilateral development between VNPT and Vingroup but also demonstrates the unity among Vietnam’s leading economic groups. He affirmed his confidence in the potential for breakthrough advancements resulting from this cooperation.
