On the afternoon of May 15, 2025, the Ministries of Industry and Trade and Finance announced adjustments to gasoline and oil prices.

In this price adjustment, the Ministries continued to not use the Price Stabilization Fund for RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, 0.05S diesel oil, kerosene, and fuel oil.

After the adjustment, the selling prices of popular gasoline and oil products in the market are as follows:

RON92 gasoline: not more than VND 19,180/liter (up VND 403/liter compared to the previous period)

RON95-III gasoline: not higher than VND 19,594/liter (up VND 415/liter compared to the previous period)

0.05S diesel oil: not higher than VND 17,228/liter (up VND 419/liter compared to the previous period)

Kerosene: not higher than 17,226 VND/liter (up 285 VND/liter compared to the previous period)

180CST 3.5S fuel oil: not higher than VND 16,160/kg (up VND 627/kg compared to the previous period)

Regarding the reason for the gasoline and oil price increase, the Ministries said that the world gasoline and oil market in this price adjustment period (from May 8 to May 14, 2025) was mainly affected by the following factors: the temporary agreement between the US and China to cut import taxes, the continued increase in tensions in the Middle East; OPEC+ accelerates oil production increase; the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine is still going on… The above factors have caused the world gasoline and oil prices to fluctuate mainly in the increasing direction in recent days.

Specifically, the average price of world gasoline and oil products between the price adjustment period on May 8, 2025, and the price adjustment period on May 15, 2025, is as follows: 75.493 USD/barrel of RON92 gasoline for blending E5 RON 92 gasoline (up 2.213 USD/barrel, equivalent to 3.02%); 76.993 USD/barrel of RON95 gasoline (up 2.130 USD/barrel, or 2.85%); 78.380 USD/barrel of kerosene (up 1.600 USD per barrel, or 2.08%); 79.113 USD/barrel of 0.05S diesel oil (up 2.343 USD/barrel, or 3.05%); 426.983 USD/ton of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil (up 21.826 USD/ton, or 5.39%).

In this price adjustment, in the context of world gasoline and oil price fluctuations, exchange rate fluctuations, and current regulations, the Ministries of Industry and Trade and Finance decided on a price adjustment plan to ensure that domestic gasoline and oil prices are suitable for world gasoline and oil prices. oil; continue to maintain a reasonable price difference between bio-gasoline E5RON92 and RON95 gasoline to encourage the use of bio-gasoline in accordance with the Government’s policy; ensure harmony between interests of market participants.

Specifically, E5RON92 gasoline increased by 51 VND per liter, while RON95-III gasoline decreased by 74 VND per liter. The prices of various types of oil also witnessed a decline, ranging from 25 VND per liter to 148 VND per kilogram when compared to the current base prices.

After three consecutive hikes, fuel prices witnessed a mixed trend during the January 23rd revision. Specifically, gasoline prices saw a marginal decline, with E5RON92 recording a drop of 158 VND per liter and RON95-III falling by 78 VND per liter. Conversely, diesel prices surged, with various types of oil registering significant increases ranging from 404 VND per liter to 571 VND per kg/liter compared to the current base price.
