The T1 and T2 routes are part of Package 6.12, a key transportation project connecting Long Thanh International Airport with National Highway 51 and the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway. This is one of the essential components in completing the transportation infrastructure surrounding Long Thanh Airport before its inauguration.

Package 6.12, valued at over VND 2,630 billion, is being constructed by a joint venture of contractors under the Deo Ca Group. The project commenced in July 2023 and is expected to be completed within 885 days.

Regarding the progress of the T1 and T2 routes, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh instructed the contractors to further mobilize personnel, machinery, and equipment to accelerate the construction pace and ensure the entire package is completed by September 2, 2025.

Following the Prime Minister’s instructions, the contractors have maintained a continuous construction pace, day and night. Approximately 750 personnel and over 200 units of machinery and equipment have been mobilized, divided into 20 construction teams working in 3 shifts to expedite progress.

The total output value achieved so far has exceeded 80%.

The T1 route is 4.3km long and is built to urban road standards with a designed speed of 80km/h. It extends from the west of Long Thanh International Airport to National Highway 51.

The construction of the overpass at the intersection of T1 and T2 routes is nearing completion. Contractors are in the final stages, including asphalt paving, installation of bridge railings, and lane marking.

In parallel with the road construction, attention is given to landscaping along the routes. The green space has been established with planted and cared-for trees, creating a pleasant environment along the main road leading to Long Thanh Airport.

At the intersection of the T2 route with the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, the contractor is preparing to install the bridge girders over the expressway. The T2 route has achieved over 76% completion, with concrete reinforcement work substantially finished. Asphalt paving is in progress, and the route is expected to be open for traffic by July 2025.

The entire Package 6.12 is anticipated to be completed by September 2 this year, three months ahead of the contractual schedule. This milestone is crucial in finalizing the synchronized transportation infrastructure for the Long Thanh International Airport – a key national project.
