On May 15th, the People’s Committee of Hanoi issued Document No. 1949 regarding the inspection of information reported by Tien Phong Newspaper in the article “Hanoi: Illegally Occupying Forest Land and Constructing Resorts.” The article exposed multiple cases of illegal construction and encroachment on forest land in Tien Xuan, Thach That district. Despite enforcement decisions, these structures remain standing.

In response, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Tran Sy Thanh, instructed the People’s Committee of Thach That district to coordinate with relevant units to promptly inspect and clarify the information reflected in Tien Phong Newspaper’s report. He emphasized strict handling in accordance with the law and considering the responsibility of collectives and individuals as directed in Directive No. 24-CT/TU dated August 7, 2023, by the Hanoi City Party Committee Standing Committee on “Strengthening discipline, discipline, and responsibility for resolving work in the political system.” A report on the implementation results must be submitted to the Hanoi People’s Committee before May 20, 2025.

Previously, Tien Phong Newspaper reported on land leveling, encroachment on forest land, and illegal construction in Tien Xuan, causing public discontent. One of the violations mentioned was committed by Vu Thi Minh Thu in village 6, Tien Xuan commune, Thach That district.

At the end of 2024, Tien Xuan People’s Committee repeatedly issued administrative violation records regarding the act of “converting production forest land into non-agricultural land (not residential) without permission from competent state agencies” and illegal construction related to this structure.

Despite the administrative violation records and demolition notices, the Tien Xuan People’s Committee failed to take timely preventive measures, allowing the violation to persist and morph into a business establishment named Thung LÅ©ng Hoa Hồng (Rose Valley).

According to the reporter’s findings, local residents have also filed complaints alleging that the facility encroached on land, arbitrarily destroyed assets and long-term crops, and built on land owned by others.
