The Thien Truong Bridge project, with a total investment of VND 1,200 billion, is under the management of the People’s Committee of Nam Dinh City, with funds mobilized from the provincial budget and revenues from resettlement and urban areas.

Construction began on October 15, 2022, and the bridge was successfully joined on December 16, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the construction process.

The bridge design consists of 16 spans with a total length of 1.6 km. The main bridge, which crosses the Dao River, is 800 meters long and has a cross-section of 20.5 meters. It utilizes a hybrid continuous prestressed concrete box girder system.

Thien Truong Bridge stands out with its two towering lotus-shaped pillars, creating a unique architectural accent. Additionally, the bridge is equipped with a modern artistic lighting system, including 15W LED lights installed on the box girders and 78W LED strip lights arranged along the main and approach bridges, promising to make the bridge sparkle and shine at night.

The main items of the Thien Truong Bridge project have been basically completed. The construction unit is inspecting and reviewing some auxiliary items, such as installing the bridge name sign and cleaning the construction site, in preparation for the inauguration ceremony scheduled for May 19th.

According to the approved plan, Nam Dinh City will develop a multi-polar model, with the Dao River as the backbone, expanding on both sides of the river, and the old urban area as the center, creating axes connecting to the open space into the center of the old urban area and the new center south of the Dao River.

Therefore, the completion of the Thien Truong Bridge will not only serve as an architectural landmark for Nam Dinh City but also hold great significance in boosting the economic and social development of the city in general and the areas on both sides of the Dao River in particular.

Moreover, the completion of the Thien Truong Bridge will directly connect to the southern axis road of Nam Dinh City and link with the new road from Nam Dinh to Lac Quan to the coastal road (VND 6,000 billion). This will contribute to creating a new development space and enhancing connectivity between the central area of Nam Dinh City and the southern districts and the coastal economic zone.
