Vietnam’s Automotive Market: April 2025 Sales Insights
According to statistics from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), the total market sales in April 2025 reached 29,585 units, a 7% decrease compared to the previous month. Cumulatively, from January to April 2025, the market consumed 101,834 vehicles, a 23% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Similarly, Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast announced the delivery of 9,588 electric vehicles in April 2025, bringing the total sales since the beginning of the year to 44,691 units – solidifying its position as the number one brand in the market. In contrast, Hyundai, a South Korean automobile brand, recorded a sales figure of 4,470 units, a decrease of approximately 16.7% from the previous month.
As of April 2025, VinFast’s dynamic duo, the VF 5 and VF 3, maintained their lead in the market with 3,731 and 2,378 units reaching consumers, respectively. These two models are the only ones to surpass the 2,000-unit sales milestone in the rankings. Notably, the VinFast VF 6 entered the top 3 best-selling cars of the month, achieving a growth rate of over 60% with 1,763 units sold.
The most surprising turn of events came from the Mitsubishi Xpander, as this MPV model dropped a staggering 5 ranks in the charts with 972 units sold, equivalent to only one-third of its sales from the previous month (2,530 units). This is the lowest rank received by the versatile small 7-seater MPV since July 2022.
