The Hung Vuong Road project, part of the East-West Economic Corridor and the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone within the Basic Infrastructure for Comprehensive Development of Quang Tri Province (BIIG2), has made significant progress. With a total length of 4.193 km, the project required the acquisition of 135,338 m2 of land, impacting 220 households.
According to the Quang Tri People’s Committee, 213 households have received compensation and handed over the site, equivalent to approximately 4 km of the route. Only seven cases remain unresolved regarding compensation.
In terms of land certificate issuance, the local government has issued 210 certificates. However, 11 cases remain pending due to discrepancies between the area mentioned in the certificate and the actual area used. The People’s Committee of Trieu Phong district is coordinating with the Land Registration Office to inspect, measure, and complete the relevant procedures.

The second key transport project is the Coastal Road connecting the East-West Economic Corridor in Quang Tri province (phase 1), passing through Trieu Phong district. This 9.5 km route affects 468 cases across six communes: Trieu Do, Trieu Thuan, Trieu Dai, Trieu Phuoc, Trieu Trach, and Trieu Tan. Approximately 61 hectares of land will be recovered.
The People’s Committee of Trieu Phong district has issued a decision to retrieve 53.8 hectares of land and approved a compensation plan with a total budget of VND 85 billion. Additionally, they have approved the design and cost estimate for four resettlement areas, totaling VND 37.6 billion in investment.
Along this route, 414 households have received compensation and handed over the site, equivalent to approximately 7 km. Approximately 2.5 km of the site remains to be handed over. The local government is intensifying efforts to ensure construction proceeds as planned.
During a recent site inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Hoang Nam emphasized the significance of these two transport projects in enhancing regional connectivity and expanding the economic and social development space in Quang Tri province. He urged the People’s Committee of Trieu Phong district to focus on resolving outstanding issues, especially in site clearance, land certificate issuance, and infrastructure relocation.
Regarding resettlement, Nam urged the committee to expedite the process, aiming for completion before June 15, to ensure the stability of affected households. On construction, the province permits enterprises to utilize existing roads in the area for construction purposes. Contractors are required to mobilize maximum resources and work overtime to adhere to the committed schedule. If contractors fail to meet deadlines, the Provincial Project Management Board will take contractual responsibility.
The provincial leaders also requested relevant departments to coordinate closely and promptly support the locality in overcoming difficulties and accelerating the progress of the project components to ensure completion as planned and with guaranteed quality.
For the remaining cases that have not agreed to the site clearance plans for the Hung Vuong Road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor, the locality should strengthen communication and encourage households to accept compensation and hand over the site. If any household disagrees, the unit will complete the profile and advise the levels to organize construction protection and forcible eviction as prescribed to hand over the site to the contractor, ensuring the plan and progress.
