On May 2, 2025, authorities inspected the area and discovered an illegal construction site on Dong Co Street, Ham Long Ward, in Thanh Hoa City. The authorities asked the construction workers to open the metal gate for an inspection regarding the violation of construction regulations, but the involved individuals did not cooperate.

According to the People’s Committee of Ham Long Ward, the location of the illegal construction had previously been subject to administrative fines and enforcement decisions by the People’s Committee of Thanh Hoa City in 2022. However, people have recently resumed unauthorized construction of a Grade 4 structure made of non-burnt bricks, exceeding a height of 2 meters, on the same site. The land lots associated with this construction belong to the Thanh Hoa Shipbuilding Company and are under the management of the People’s Committee of Ham Long Ward.

The People’s Committee of Ham Long Ward has issued invitations and tried to contact the individuals related to the violation via phone, but they have not cooperated and denied their involvement in the illegal construction.

Consequently, the People’s Committee of Ham Long Ward has issued a notice to find the owner and investor of the illegal construction to propose a plan to handle the violation according to regulations.

On May 16, in a brief conversation with Tien Phong, Ms. Le Thi Thanh, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ham Long Ward, revealed that someone had contacted them, requesting to self-demolish the illegal construction. The ward is currently considering this request and will propose a solution soon.
