Specifically, the Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security has prosecuted and detained Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien (Miss Grand International 2021) for “deceiving consumers”, as stipulated in Clause 2, Article 198 of the Criminal Code. She is considered an accomplice of the defendants from the Joint Stock Company Chi Em Rot Group.
At the same time, four individuals who are leaders of Asia Life Joint Stock Company were also prosecuted, including Nguyen Pham Hong Vy – Director and legal representative; Pham Thi Diem Trinh – Head of Research and Product Development; Truong Thi Le – Head of Quality Assurance and Quality Control; and Tran Thi Le Thu – Head of Production. They are charged as accomplices with Nguyen Phong – Chairman of the Board of Asia Life, for “producing counterfeit food” as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 193 of the 2015 Criminal Code.
Among the four leaders of Asia Life, Pham Thi Diem Trinh and Tran Thi Le Thu were detained, while Nguyen Pham Hong Vy (currently breastfeeding a child under 36 months old) and Truong Thi Le (currently pregnant) are banned from leaving their places of residence.
After the Supreme People’s Procuracy (Department 3) approved the above prosecution decisions, the Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security proceeded with the prosecution in accordance with legal regulations.
Currently, the Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security (C01) is expanding the investigation to clarify the violations of related individuals for strict handling in accordance with the law.
Previously, on April 3, 2025, the Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security issued Decision No. 18 to initiate a criminal case regarding “producing counterfeit food and deceiving consumers” related to Asia Life and Chi Em Rot Group, which occurred in Ho Chi Minh City and Dak Lak province.
On the same day, the Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security decided to prosecute and detain five defendants, including Nguyen Phong – Chairman of the Board of Asia Life, for “producing counterfeit food”, as stipulated in Article 193 of the 2015 Criminal Code, and four leaders and shareholders of Chi Em Rot Group, namely Nguyen Thi Thai Hang (Hang Du Muc) – Chairman of the Board; Le Tuan Linh – Director and legal representative; Pham Quang Linh (Quang Linh Vlogs) – shareholder and member of the Board of Directors; and Le Thanh Cong – shareholder and member, for “deceiving consumers” as stipulated in Clause 2, Article 198 of the 2015 Criminal Code.
