In the afternoon of May 16, Mr. Pham Viet Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, chaired a meeting with Sun Group on their planned investment projects in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
Opening the meeting, Mr. Pham Viet Thanh informed that in order for Ba Ria-Vung Tau to attract strong investment in the fields of tourism, resorts, and entertainment as it does now, besides its inherent potential and strengths, the province has made great efforts to focus on removing bottlenecks for development.
Regarding administrative reform, Ba Ria-Vung Tau has consistently maintained a high administrative reform index for 4 consecutive years, currently ranking first in the Southeast region and among the top 5 nationwide. In terms of transport infrastructure connectivity, it is expected to be completed by mid-2027.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the province has never had such a convergence of opportunities and favorable conditions as it does now, along with synchronous transport infrastructure, which is an important foundation to enhance attraction and create favorable conditions for large investors to have confidence and choose Ba Ria-Vung Tau as a destination to deploy large-scale and dynamic projects, especially strategic investors like Sun Group. He expressed his wish that the province’s land resources would be utilized in the best and most reasonable way.

After the opening speech of the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the leaders of Sun Group proposed investment ideas for a commercial service complex at Mui Nghinh Phong, Cu Lao Ben Dinh new urban area, Go Gang Island new urban area combined with eco-tourism, Bac Phuoc Thang eco-tourism area and Tay Nam Ba Ria new urban area, and some projects in Con Dao district.
At the same time, they proposed and recommended some legal issues related to planning and land auction procedures for selecting investors for the expected investment projects.
After listening to the proposals of Sun Group and the opinions of the relevant departments, Mr. Pham Viet Thanh affirmed that Ba Ria-Vung Tau has always appreciated the capacity, vision, and mission of Sun Group in implementing projects nationwide, as well as the group’s dedication in researching and proposing investment projects in the province.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the province wishes to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with Sun Group at the investment promotion conference expected to be held at the end of May. He also suggested that Sun Group consider investing in a high-end hospital in the province.

Recently, Sun Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for the “Duong 3 Thang 2” Urban Area project in wards 10 and 11 of Vung Tau city, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. This is one of the largest complex urban projects ever implemented in the locality.
With a total area of approximately 96 hectares and an investment of nearly VND 37,000 billion, the project is planned to include high-rise apartments, low-rise villas, a commercial-service complex, hotels, and a 19-hectare themed water park. Once completed, the urban area is expected to accommodate about 13,000 permanent residents and welcome about 11,000 tourists daily.
The project is located on Duong 3 Thang 2 street, between the two central wards of Vung Tau city, with convenient connections to Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring localities via transport infrastructure such as National Highway 51, Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway, Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway, and the under-construction Ben Luc-Long Thanh route. The project is also within a 60km radius of Long Thanh International Airport, enhancing accessibility to domestic and international tourist sources.
