On May 19th, according to Công an TP.HCM, the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security announced the prosecution and arrest of Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Miss Vietnam 2020, for “Fraudulent Customers” under Article 198 of the Criminal Code. This is a development in the investigation into the case of counterfeit food production involving Asia Life Joint Stock Company and Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company.
The accused
Prosecution has been initiated against four subjects who are leaders of Asia Life Joint Stock Company, including:
– Nguyen Pham Hong Vy, Director and Legal Representative;
– Pham Thi Diem Trinh, Head of Research and Product Development;
– Truong Thi Le, Head of Quality Assurance and Quality Control;
– Tran Thi Le Thu, Head of Production;
All are charged with “Production of Counterfeit Food” under Article 193 of the 2015 Criminal Code, as accomplices to Nguyen Phong, Chairman of the Board of Asia Life Joint Stock Company.
Among them, Pham Thi Diem Trinh and Tran Thi Le Thu were detained. Nguyen Pham Hong Vy and Truong Thi Le are banned from leaving their places of residence, the former due to nursing a child under 36 months old and the latter due to pregnancy.
Prior to Thuy Tien and the above four subjects being prosecuted, on April 3, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security also initiated proceedings and detained five defendants on charges of producing counterfeit food and defrauding customers related to Asia Life Joint Stock Company and Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company.
The five defendants are as follows:
– Nguyen Phong, Chairman of the Board of Asia Life Joint Stock Company, charged with producing counterfeit food.
– Le Tuan Linh, Director and Legal Representative of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company
– Le Thanh Cong, Member of the Board of Directors of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company
– Pham Quang Linh, aka Quang Linh Vlog, Member of the Board of Directors of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company
– Nguyen Thi Thai Hang, aka Hang “Nomadic”, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company. These defendants were prosecuted for defrauding customers.
The Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security has determined that the defendants showed signs of the crimes of producing counterfeit food and defrauding customers, as prescribed in Articles 193 and 198 of the Criminal Code.
Charging Nguyễn Thúc Thùy Tiên and Four Other Suspects in the Case of Asia Life and the Sisterhood Group
On May 15, 2025, the Investigative Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam took a decisive step in their extensive investigation. Based on solid evidence, they issued an arrest warrant and initiated criminal proceedings against Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Miss Grand International 2021, on charges of consumer fraud. In a separate but related development, four executives of Asia Life Joint Stock Company were also indicted for producing counterfeit food products.
4 Violations at Asia Life Company Related to Hang Du Muc and Quang Linh Vlogs
With a proven track record of four violations, Asia Life Joint Stock Company now faces administrative penalties as the Đắk Lắk Department of Health forwards the case to the provincial chairman.
