According to the work schedule for this week (May 19-25) published by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Office, the city’s leaders will have two working sessions with the Trump Group (The Trump Organization).
On Monday afternoon, May 19, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, is expected to receive and work on-site with the Trump Organization.
Subsequently, on Thursday afternoon, May 22, both Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, and Mr. Vo Van Hoan will receive leaders of the Trump Organization.
According to a document from the Foreign Affairs Department, Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation (KBC) and Saigon Investment Corporation have been promoting the Trump Vietnam Project in Ho Chi Minh City and met with city leaders in March 2025. During this visit and working session, there will be two groups. Group 1: Led by Mr. Charles James Boyd Bowman, Project Director of Trump International Hung Yen, arriving in the city on May 19, 2025; Group 2: Mr. Eric Trump, Senior Vice President of the Trump Organization and the third son of US President Donald Trump, arriving in the city on May 22, 2025.
The delegation will visit the Thu Thiem area to survey the proposed site for the construction of the Trump Tower and wish to have a working session with city leaders regarding this project.
This week’s meetings come immediately after the urban, eco-tourism, and golf complex project in Khoai Chau, Hung Yen province, proposed by the Trump Group with a capital investment of 1.5 billion USD, was approved in principle last weekend. The Trump Group has expressed its intention to invest in this project with Hung Yen province since September 2024, before Mr. Donald Trump won the US presidential election in November 2024.
At this meeting, Mr. Charles James Boyd Bowman stated that they are working closely with relevant agencies to expedite the project as quickly as possible. He hopes that the project will be completed within the next two years (by March 2027) to serve the APEC 2027 event and become Vietnam’s leading golf course and a globally renowned golf destination.

This project is planned on a site spanning over 990 hectares, located in seven communes of Khoai Chau district, bordering the Red River in the north and west. The project is divided into four sub-areas, including an eco-residential area associated with a premium golf course (with a population of 3,500 people), an eco-residential area associated with an eco-golf course (1,800 people), a commercial and service urban area (29,700 people), and a specialized park and theme park area. The golf course facility is planned on an area of more than 240 hectares, featuring 54 holes, including a 36-hole course and an 18-hole course.
The total investment capital for this project is nearly VND 39,800 billion (equivalent to over USD 1.53 billion), including compensation and resettlement support costs of nearly VND 4,100 billion. The project’s operational duration is 50 years, with an implementation period from Q2 2025 to Q2 2029.
The Trump Group will develop the hotel, golf course, and residential project through a cooperation agreement with Hung Yen Hotel Services Company. This is a subsidiary of Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation (KBC), owned by businessman Dang Thanh Tam, focusing on transportation and urban development.
