In the afternoon of May 20, in response to VTC News, Mr. Le Quang Trung, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Health, said that authorities have launched an investigation into VB Group Co., Ltd. and Dong Nai EBC Medical Joint Stock Company.
“This morning, we established a team to inspect the company. We will announce the results on the website of the Dong Nai Department of Health when they are available,” Mr. Trung said.

Previously, the Dong Nai Department of Health issued a document to its subordinate units, health departments of districts and cities, businesses and cosmetic users in the province, and Dong Nai EBC Medical Joint Stock Company, announcing the suspension, recall, and destruction of substandard cosmetic products.
The Department of Health assigned the heads of local health departments to send notifications to wholesale and retail outlets and cosmetic users, conduct inspections and supervision, and strictly handle violations according to regulations.
Dong Nai EBC Medical Joint Stock Company (located in Giang Dien Industrial Park, Trang Bom District) is required to report the results of the recall and destruction of the violating batch to the Department of Health before June 15, 2025.
The Department of Health also assigned the Inspectorate to inspect the compliance with legal regulations in the production and business activities of cosmetics at VB Group Co., Ltd. and Dong Nai EBC Medical Joint Stock Company.
The inspection results, even in the case of no violation detection, must be sent to the Department of Professional Affairs before June 12, 2025.
According to the notification of the direction of the Drug Administration of Vietnam – Ministry of Health, Dong Nai Department of Health announced the suspension and recall of Hanayuki Sunscreen Body (box of 1 tube of 100g) nationwide. The product has a registration number of 779/24/CBMP-DN; batch number: 0010125; manufacturing date: 060125; expiration date: 050127.
The batch was put on the market by VB Group Co., Ltd. (headquartered in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) and produced by Dong Nai EBC Medical Joint Stock Company. The reason for the suspension is that the sun protection index on the label (SPF 50) does not match the test results (SPF 2.4)
VB Group Co., Ltd. is the legal entity behind the Hanayuki cosmetic brand. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu, the husband of singer Doan Di Bang, is the legal representative and General Director of the company. Recently, singer Doan Di Bang has also been known as the “brand ambassador” for this product line.
Previously, on May 7, the Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) issued a decision to suspend, recall and destroy the entire batch of Hanayuki Shampoo (300g bottle), also produced and marketed by the above-mentioned companies.
The reason for the violation was that the product exceeded the microbial limit and contained 2-Phenoxyethanol, a component not included in the registered formula.

The Hanayuki Sunscreen Body Lotion has been recalled nationwide due to a mislabeling issue. The product was labeled with an SPF 50 rating, however, upon further testing, it was found to only offer an SPF of 2.4. This is significantly lower than the claimed protection factor and could leave consumers at risk of sun damage. The recall was initiated by the Drug Administration, who urged consumers to return the product and take caution when purchasing sun protection products.
