On the morning of May 19, the Standing Committee of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee met to discuss and give opinions on the seaside road project in Phan Thiet City, considering it a key transport project for the period of 2026–2030.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, with the attendance of Mr. Do Huu Huy, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and leaders of departments and sectors.
According to the proposal, the road is approximately 14.6 km long, starting at the roundabout of DT.706B Street (in Phu Hai Ward) and ending at the Cambodia Slope area (in Tien Thanh Commune). The road is designed with a cross-section of 36.5 m, including six lanes for motor vehicles, sidewalks, and a median strip. The total investment is expected to be around VND 9,493 billion, and the construction is planned for the period of 2025–2030.

The seaside road project is expected to cut across the lower part of the Ca Ty River, leading to Phan Thiet Beach.
Notably, the project will reclaim approximately 84.8 hectares of the sea to construct the road and develop seaside landscape parks. A bridge crossing the Ca Ty River is also proposed to be built in the Phu Hai Ward area.
The Standing Committee of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee agreed on the investment policy for the project, recognizing its strategic significance. The road is expected to connect the coastal urban space, boost tourism development, and complete the infrastructure in line with the master plan for Phan Thiet City by 2040. The Committee also requested the Provincial People’s Committee to promptly finalize the project dossier and seek opinions from central ministries and sectors, ensuring compliance with legal regulations on investment and marine resource management.
Binh Thuan Province boasts a 192-kilometer coastline, stretching from Chet Rock in Ca Na, Ninh Thuan Province, to Binh Chau Beach in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. Over the years, the provincial and central governments have paid attention to investing in the seaside road, but it remains discontinuous.
According to the report of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee, several sections of the seaside road in the province have been completed and put into operation, including the Lien Huong – Binh Thanh section (5.8 km), the Song Luy Bridge – Hoa Thang section (23 km), DT.706B (16.4 km), DT.706B – Hung Vuong Bridge (4 km), DT.719 Kega – Tan Thien section (32.5 km), and the section passing through La Gi town (6 km).
Additionally, the construction of two more sections, DT.719B Phan Thiet – Kega (25.6 km) and Hon Lan – Tan Hai (8.7 km), is currently underway.
The province of Binh Thuan is also seeking central government support in funding two sections: Phan Ri Cua – Binh Thanh (approximately 16.5 km) and Tan Thang – Thang Hai (approximately 12.5 km).
