According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, on the afternoon of May 19, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc met with Mr. Charles James Bowman, Director of the Trump International Hung Yen project.
The meeting took place at the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee headquarters. The meeting was also attended by leaders from the People’s Committee Office and the Departments of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development, Natural Resources and Environment, and Construction.
On May 22, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Duoc, is expected to attend a dinner with Mr. Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, these two meetings are part of a program to promote cooperation and development of the Trump Vietnam project in Ho Chi Minh City by the Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation and the Saigon Investment Corporation. These two enterprises met with Ho Chi Minh City leaders in March 2025.
During this working trip, the Trump Organization’s delegation was divided into two groups. The group led by Mr. Charles James Bowman will work with the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee on May 19, while the group led by Mr. Eric Trump will work on May 22.
“The delegation will visit the new urban area of Thu Thiem to survey the proposed site for the construction of the Trump Tower, and they wish to have a discussion and working session with the city’s leaders on this matter,” said the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs.
