In a recent development, the Prime Minister has approved an investment policy for the establishment of a new airline, Sun PhuQuoc Airways, owned by Sun Group. According to the decision, the total planned fleet size for SPA by 2030 is 31 aircraft, with a total investment capital of VND 2,500 billion (approximately $98.81 million). The company aims to provide commercial passenger transport services and charter flights, connecting popular tourist destinations in Vietnam and worldwide.

Sun Phu Quoc Airways will bridge the gap between Phu Quoc and domestic and international travelers.

Notably, SPA is dedicated to attracting global travelers to Phu Quoc and making it more accessible for Vietnamese nationals to explore this breathtaking island. The approval of Sun PhuQuoc Airways by the Prime Minister marks a significant milestone for Vietnam’s aviation industry and Phu Quoc’s tourism development.

Phu Quoc International Airport will serve as a modern and convenient gateway to the island.

With Sun PhuQuoc Airways in the picture, along with other airlines in the market, travelers will have enhanced access to Phu Quoc, the world’s second most beautiful island after Maldives. SPA is expected to commence operations in Q4 2025, connecting Phu Quoc with key economic and tourist hubs domestically and internationally.
