According to a sales consultant from a dealership in the South, the new upgraded Isuzu mu-X will be available for purchase next month. The salesperson revealed that the price of the 2025 mu-X would be higher than its predecessor, and the vehicle will still be imported from Thailand.

Previously, in March, a batch of 2025 mu-X vehicles was spotted at a vehicle emission testing center in Hanoi. The new model appeared with at least four units, belonging to three different variants, distinguishable by their exterior design.

The Isuzu mu-X is a facelifted model with an unchanged body style, but the front and rear ends have been redesigned to look more rugged and modern. The grille is now separated from the headlamp cluster, giving it a bolder look. The headlights are sharper and feature a new LED design. The rear combination lamps stretch across the tailgate, adding a distinctive touch. Notably, the unit spotted at the emission testing center was fitted with 18- to 20-inch alloy wheels, similar to those found on the Ford Everest.

The specific convenience features of the 2025 mu-X are yet to be confirmed. However, based on the Thai-spec model, some expected updates include a 7-inch screen behind the steering wheel, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and USB-C charging ports. The vehicle is also likely to retain features such as dual-zone automatic climate control and electronic parking brakes in the higher-end variants.

One potential point of contention with the new mu-X is the engine. According to the dealership, this model is likely to retain the 1.9L engine instead of the 2.2L unit showcased at the 2025 Bangkok Motor Show. This engine has a lower output compared to its rivals, the Everest, Fortuner, and Pajero Sport.

In terms of safety technology, the mu-X is expected to retain its ADAS features from the previous model.

While the new mu-X is set to be launched, dealerships are offering deep discounts on the older models to clear inventory. VIN 2023 units are being offered with discounts of up to VND 270 million, depending on the location.

Despite the significant price cuts, the mu-X has consistently been among the least-sold vehicles each month. The model has also been slower to receive updates compared to its competitors.
