The recent arrest of Quang Linh, a key member of the Africa team, for his involvement in the Kera candy scandal has brought the activities of the team members under scrutiny.

Recently, a video was uploaded on the Quang Linh Vlogs YouTube channel, showing a surprise visit by a group of police officers to the team’s farm in Angola.

According to Anh The, one of the farm managers in Quang Linh’s absence, he was supervising the team’s farming activities when he was suddenly informed about the police visit.

Anh The was initially worried about the unexpected visit, but upon communicating with the local police, he learned that they were on a routine security patrol in the area.

The African police officers inquired about the farming and cultivation activities at the farm and requested a tour of the premises to check for any theft or weapons that could pose a threat to social safety. With the team’s cooperation, the police gained insights into the farming practices and unique crops from Vietnam, such as dragon fruit and sugarcane.

During the tour, Anh The enthusiastically offered some ripe bitter melons to the officers and provided instructions on how to prepare them.

Despite the challenges faced by the team since the incident with Quang Linh Vlogs in late February 2025, the YouTube channel with 4.1 million subscribers has continued to operate normally, with regular video uploads. Other team members have stepped up to appear in the videos, sharing about their lives in Africa, the team’s activities, and the progress of their farm.

Lindo, who took over the management of the channel, quickly adapted to the new role. Although the viewership has decreased, Lindo has received praise from the audience for his efforts.

Prior to this, there was controversy surrounding a team member, Cong Giap, who allegedly “turned his back” on Quang Linh during his ordeal. Cong Giap announced the creation of a new YouTube channel called “Team Cong Giap,” along with three other members, including Son Thach, who would be the main presenter, and two cameramen.

In the announcement, Cong Giap stated, “We introduce our new channel, Team Cong Giap Vlog – Life in Africa, and hope that our Vietnamese audience will support us as we continue to help the local communities here.” This sparked mixed reactions, with some accusing Cong Giap of leaving Quang Linh Vlogs and the Africa team.

However, Cong Giap clarified the situation in a video uploaded on April 30, asserting that there was no separation and that the entire Africa team remains united despite the challenges. He also shared that the newly established “Team Cong Giap” channel has been renamed to “Son Thach – Life in Africa,” following the naming convention of other team members’ channels.

“I would like to clarify, once and for all, that despite the initial channel name, all of us are still together, continuing our work and supporting each other and the local communities here,” Cong Giap emphasized.
