Hanoi’s People’s Committee plans to commence construction on six new bridges over the Hong River this year: Hong Ha, Me So, Thuong Cat, Tran Hung Dao, Van Phuc, and Ngoc Hoi.

According to Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, the city is expediting the development and improvement of its transportation infrastructure in line with the Prime Minister’s master plan. This includes focusing on building and completing a total of 18 bridges over the Hong River to alleviate traffic congestion and boost socio-economic development.

Designed to be constructed this year, Thuong Cat Bridge.

Currently, there are nine bridges spanning the Hong River. In addition to the recently inaugurated Tu Lien Bridge on May 19, the city has instructed relevant departments to finalize the paperwork for the construction of six more bridges by the end of 2025.

For the remaining two bridges, Thang Long Bridge and Phu Xuyen Bridge, the city has requested that the departments continue to refine the paperwork and technical designs to ensure they are ready for construction in the following years.

To expedite the completion of the necessary procedures and paperwork for these six bridge projects, Chairman Tran Sy Thanh stated that the city is vigorously implementing a comprehensive set of tasks with innovative and adaptable solutions that fit the practical situation.

For consulting packages (construction method proposals and project deployment dossiers), the Hanoi People’s Committee has applied a special case selection method for consulting packages that exceed the prescribed bidding package value limit for consulting packages.
