In a recent report titled “Gartner Market Share: Services, Worldwide 2024,” Gartner recognized FPT as one of the top 40 technology and information services companies in Asia and ranked it 139th globally. This is the first time a Vietnamese enterprise has made it to this prestigious list.

According to the report, FPT’s technology segment achieved remarkable success, generating over $1.4 billion in revenue in 2024. This significant achievement propelled the corporation up six places in the Asian ranking and 18 places globally. Gartner acknowledged this milestone, highlighting the increasing competitiveness and prominence of Vietnamese businesses in the international technology market.

In the 2024 financial structure, the technology segment accounted for 62.2% of total revenue and contributed 47.2% to FPT’s pre-tax profits. Notably, exported information technology services exhibited robust growth, increasing by 27.4%. This segment accounted for 79.1% of the revenue and 91.2% of the pre-tax profits of FPT’s technology arm.

FPT has secured several large-scale projects globally, including a $225 million contract in the USA, an $115 million deal in Germany, and a $110 million agreement in Singapore. The Japanese market demonstrated impressive growth, with a 32.2% revenue increase year-over-year, surpassing $500 million in 2024. The Asia-Pacific market also thrived, generating 8,240 billion VND in revenue, reflecting a 34.8% growth compared to the previous year.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT’s Board of Directors, shared that the corporation is focusing on developing five key areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Semiconductors, Digital Automotive Technology, Digital Transformation, and Green Transformation. Among these, AI is the strategic pillar, with a long-term goal of deploying one million AI Agents to enhance the productivity of both individuals and enterprises. FPT also intends to integrate AI into all its products and services in the upcoming years.

In the first four months of 2025, FPT recorded impressive financial results, with revenue reaching VND 21,557 billion, a 13.5% increase, and pre-tax profits of VND 4,065 billion, a 17.9% surge compared to the same period last year. The technology segment continues to spearhead this growth, with a 15% increase, particularly in global information technology services, which rose by 16.4%.

According to Gartner’s forecast, global spending on generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is projected to reach $644 billion in 2025, marking a significant 76.4% increase from 2024. Spending on GenAI is expected to grow significantly across all core and adjacent markets in 2025. Spending on software and services will witness remarkable growth, with increases of 93.9% and 162.6%, respectively, totaling $37.2 billion and $27.8 billion.

GenAI is poised to have a transformative impact on all facets of IT spending, underscoring the growing indispensability of AI technology in business operations and consumer products.
