Regarding the issue of the stone pavement at Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport showing signs of peeling and patchiness, the representative of the contractor consortium for Package 12 attributed the problem to the rushed construction schedule to meet the airport’s opening deadline. As a result, some auxiliary items, including the stone pavement in the waiting hall, had to be continued after the terminal became operational.

Many areas of the stone pavement at Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat Airport lack grout, and some tiles are unevenly raised.

“As of now, about 50% of the stone pavement area has been completed. In the next 10 days, we will finish the main processes such as grouting, grinding, and polishing the floor. The entire stone pavement will be completed before June 30,” affirmed the representative of the contractor consortium.

Previously, many passengers had noticed the peeling grout and patchiness of the stone pavement at Terminal T3, which affected the aesthetics of the terminal. The representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport stated that they are closely coordinating with the construction unit to promptly address these issues.

In addition to the stone pavement, other incidents such as leaking due to material shrinkage have also been resolved.

It is known that Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat Airport has a total investment of over VND 11,000 billion. Construction began in late 2022 and was inaugurated on April 19, 2025, two months ahead of schedule.

The contractor committed to completing the stone pavement at Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat Airport before June 30.

The terminal is designed with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year and is expected to significantly relieve the pressure on Terminal T1, which has been operating beyond its capacity for many years.

Since the terminal is already in use, the construction units can only work during the hours of 0:00 to 3:00 am to avoid disrupting flight operations. The contractor expressed their hope for understanding and cooperation from the investors and passengers during this final stage of completion.
