In the afternoon of May 21st, Mr. Le Van Sinh, Chairman of Nui Thanh District, confirmed that an explosion had occurred that morning at the SGI magnetic factory of SGI VINA Co., Ltd. in the Bac Chu Lai Industrial Park (Tam Hiep Commune, Nui Thanh District).

According to Mr. Sinh’s information from the quick report of Tam Hiep Commune Police, the incident took place around 9:30 am. Several injured workers were rushed to the hospital after the explosion.
Leaders of the Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Nam Province said that after the incident, the Board sent representatives to inspect the site and visit the injured workers at the hospital. The accident occurred during the surface coating process, and several injured workers were taken to the Quang Nam Central General Hospital.
Information from the Quang Nam Central General Hospital stated that the Emergency Department received 12 patients this morning.
Currently, one patient with severe burns of 60-70% has undergone debridement, pain management, and shock treatment in the ICU.
Three patients with burns less than 10% and additional wounds are being cared for and treated in the Trauma Surgery Department.
The remaining eight patients, suffering from soft tissue injuries and heat-induced fainting, were treated in the Emergency Department and have since been discharged.
