Binh Duong province currently boasts the largest industrial park (IP) area in Vietnam, spanning approximately 12,721 hectares, which accounts for 13% of the country’s total IP area and a quarter of the Southeast region’s IP area.
To date, the province has 30 operational industrial parks, with an average occupancy rate of 87.4%. Several parks have achieved over 95% occupancy, solidifying Binh Duong’s position as the nation’s leader in industrial land utilization.
As part of its long-term development strategy, Binh Duong is planning an additional 15 new industrial parks, encompassing 10,200 hectares. By 2050, the province aims to have 46 IPs covering more than 24,338 hectares. Prominent industrial parks such as VSIP, My Phuoc, Dong An, Song Than, Bau Bang, and Nam Tan Uyen have significantly contributed to attracting domestic and foreign investments.
Binh Duong is not only focused on the quantity and scale of its industrial parks but is also embracing a new-generation industrial park model that integrates three key pillars: Ecology, Intelligence, and Sustainability. This strategic direction aims to synchronously develop industry, urban areas, and services, creating a conducive working and living environment while enhancing the quality of life for laborers.

Recently, the province simultaneously commenced the construction of two iconic industrial parks embodying this new model: Cay Truong Industrial Park (700 hectares) and Bau Bang Expanded Industrial Park Phase 2 (380 hectares). Both projects are geared towards international standards, incorporating advanced technology, renewable energy, and smart management.
Mr. Dang Quang Vinh, a senior private sector development expert at the World Bank, shared his insights on VTV, stating that: “Binh Duong has the necessary conditions to meet international standards for Eco-Industrial Park 2.0. The province possesses a well-developed hard and soft infrastructure system, efficiently connecting logistics and financial hubs.”
Mr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of the Binh Duong People’s Committee, affirmed that the establishment of the Binh Duong Concentrated Information Technology Park marks a significant milestone in the province’s industrial development orientation, transitioning from an Industry-Urban-Service model to an Industry-Urban-Intelligent Service model.
This strategic move propels Binh Duong to a higher rung in the global industrial value chain. The province aims to build a new-generation industrial ecosystem, enhancing and upgrading the existing one to cater to the maximum needs of investors and laborers, both domestically and internationally, in the context of deep integration.
Concurrently, this development aligns with Binh Duong’s preparation to accompany the nation in embarking on a new era of progress and advancement, as reported by the Binh Duong Newspaper.
The Three Pillars of the New-Generation Industrial Park
The three pillars of the new-generation industrial park, namely Ecology, Intelligence, and Sustainability, are elaborated as follows:
– Ecology: Emphasizing reduced emissions, resource conservation, and renewable energy utilization; Increasing green spaces and industrial parks; Establishing a closed-loop industrial ecosystem that maximizes the utilization of by-products among enterprises.
– Intelligence: Integrating digital infrastructure, IoT monitoring, and centralized data management; Encouraging enterprises to adopt automation, AI, and digital supply chains; Enabling real-time management and monitoring of industrial parks.
– Sustainability: Fostering the linkage between production, urban areas, and services to create an ideal living and working environment; Developing long-term strategies for human resources, infrastructure, and the environment; Attracting selective investments with a focus on high technology and environmental friendliness.
The implementation of new-generation industrial parks not only enhances Binh Duong’s competitiveness but also represents a concrete step towards realizing Vietnam’s sustainable development goals.
