The Ministry of Finance has approved BIC’s proposal to appoint a new Chairman of the Board and CEO, effective May 8, 2025.

Mr. Tran Hoai An – New Chairman of BIC’s Board of Directors

Accordingly, Mr. Tran Hoai An, the current CEO, has been appointed as the new Chairman, replacing Mr. Tran Xuan Hoang.

Ms. Doan Thi Thu Huyen – New CEO of BIC

At the same time, Ms. Doan Thi Thu Huyen, the Vice CEO, has been appointed as the new CEO, replacing Mr. Tran Hoai An. The appointments are effective from May 23, 2025, for a term of five years.

The new Chairman of BIC’s Board of Directors, Mr. Tran Hoai An (born in 1968), holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He joined BIC in 2009 and was appointed as Vice CEO in April 2013, in charge of business development in the Southern region, and also served as the Director of BIDV Insurance Company in Ho Chi Minh City. Since November 2014, he has been the CEO of BIC and joined the Board of Directors in April 2015.

The new CEO, Ms. Doan Thi Thu Huyen (born in 1974), also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. She has worked in the BIDV system for many years and used to be the Vice Director of the Organization and Personnel Department of BIDV before being appointed as the Vice CEO of BIC from May 1, 2012.

BIC’s net profit in Q1 over the years

In terms of business results, in Q1/2025, BIC’s gross profit from insurance activities reached VND 272 billion, a slight decrease of 2% compared to the same period last year. However, net profit increased significantly by 47%, reaching VND 154 billion, thanks to the improvement in financial activities with a 24% increase in gross profit to VND 159 billion. Notably, profit from securities investment nearly doubled, reaching nearly VND 90 billion.

Compared to the 2025 plan of VND 710 billion in pre-tax profit (up 9% compared to 2024), BIC has achieved about 27% of the target after the first quarter.
