The “Test and Believe – Conquer VF 8” event, held in Ho Chi Minh City on May 17-18, offered participants a unique opportunity to experience the authentic performance of the VinFast VF 8.
For the first time, the VinFast VF 8s were put through challenging trials, typically reserved for off-road vehicles. The tests included steep hill climbs, rough terrain, water pits, continuous zigzag turns, and rapid acceleration and braking in a short distance.
Many attendees expressed excitement and enthusiasm for this rare opportunity. “Compared to the first VF 8 version I owned three years ago, this new model has significant upgrades, including three major improvements,” said Bach Thanh Trung, admin of the VOZ forum.

Bach Thanh Trung (in white) pointed out three key improvements in the new VF 8.
Mr. Trung elaborated, “The rear suspension is much smoother, especially noticeable when navigating rough terrain. The braking system has also been significantly enhanced, including both regenerative and conventional braking capabilities.”
“From the start, I felt these tests didn’t play to the strengths of electric vehicles. EVs excel at long-distance travel and rapid acceleration. However, VinFast designed these trials to showcase the VF 8’s new features and demonstrate its ability to overcome challenging situations,” he added.
“The VinFast VF 8 is more powerful than I expected. During the 0-80km/h acceleration, all four passengers felt glued to their seats,” shared Nguyen Quoc Cuong. He also mentioned that a mere 5% throttle was enough to navigate the water pit challenge. According to Cuong, a 250-horsepower engine is typically sufficient for city driving, so the VF 8’s 450-horsepower engine is more than adequate for all needs.

Many were impressed by the VinFast VF 8’s acceleration capabilities.
Meanwhile, Kim Minh praised the vehicle’s smooth acceleration and excellent braking system. Despite being over 60 years old and initially hesitant to take the wheel, she gained confidence through the instructors’ guidance and her trust in the VF 8, enabling her to successfully tackle all the tests.
Nguyen Dang Quynh, a VinFast VF 9 owner, attended the event to better understand the VF 8’s performance. He described the vehicle as agile and nimble. “Non-specialist off-road gasoline vehicles would struggle with steep climbs like today’s challenge. I was surprised that the VF 8, a family SUV, could effortlessly conquer that steep slope,” he said.

Nguyen Dang Quynh was surprised by the VF 8’s ability to navigate a steep slope.
Pham Thuy Vy, a current owner of VinFast VF 7 Plus and VF 8 Plus, shared her experience: “Despite being familiar with the VF 8 for years, I encountered a completely different VinFast VF 8 at the event. It could conquer challenging tasks such as wading through 30 cm of water and climbing a 3-meter slope. These tests opened up a new group of customers for the VF 8: those who love camping and exploring nature.”

Pham Thuy Vy, owner of VinFast VF 7 and VF 8, discovered a different side to the VF 8 at the event.
It is evident that the VinFast VF 8 has won over participants with its exceptional performance and capabilities.
