Wuyang Honda, a joint venture between the renowned Japanese motorcycle brand and a Chinese partner, has just unveiled its new affordable scooter, the NWM125.
According to the information released, the Wuyang Honda NWM125 is offered in two variants in the Chinese market: CBS and ABS, priced at 8,980 yuan and 10,380 yuan, respectively, which is approximately 32.3 million VND and 37.4 million VND.
In terms of dimensions, the Wuyang Honda NWM125 measures 1,813 mm in length, 688 mm in width, and 1,081 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,246 mm. The seat height is set at 750 mm, while the ground clearance stands at 133 mm. This new scooter is relatively lightweight, weighing just 102 kg, which is slightly heavier than the Honda Vision.
The NWM125 sports a classic design with graceful curves reminiscent of the Yamaha Grande. The front of the scooter features modern LED headlights and position lights, along with prominent LED turn signals, giving it a tech-savvy appearance.
The body lines of the new NWM125 are also smoothly contoured and sharply defined. This scooter is available in five different color options to cater to individual preferences. In addition to a spacious under-seat storage compartment that can accommodate a 3/4 helmet, the Wuyang Honda NWM125 also boasts an open front storage compartment for added convenience, a Type-C charging port, and the latest WI-box motorcycle connectivity system.
Under the skin, the NWM125 is powered by a single-cylinder eSP engine with a displacement of 125cc, air-cooled, delivering a maximum power output of 9.4 horsepower at 7,750 rpm and a peak torque of 10 Nm at 5,750 rpm, achieving a top speed of 90 km/h.
The scooter incorporates an automatic engine idling stop system, resulting in impressive fuel efficiency. As per the manufacturer’s claims, the fuel consumption stands at approximately 1.8 liters per 100 kilometers. With a 5.7-liter fuel tank, the Wuyang Honda NWM125 boasts a maximum range of up to 300 kilometers on a full tank.
The Wuyang Honda NWM125 boasts a host of advanced features, rivaling even the Honda SH Mode. Specifically, this new Honda scooter is equipped with a 5-inch TFT color digital instrument cluster that supports Honda CONNECT, along with a Smartkey smart key system.
Both the front and rear wheels of the Wuyang Honda NWM125 are made of aluminum alloy and measure 10 inches in diameter. Both variants of the NWM125 are fitted with a front disc brake and a rear drum brake. However, the CBS variant only offers a combined braking system, while the ABS version incorporates an anti-lock braking system, similar to the Honda SH Mode.
With its compact size, moderate weight, and classic style, the NWM125 is poised to become a compelling choice in the urban mobility market, easily rivaling the ubiquitous Honda Vision.
