Mr. Lam Van Bi, Vice Chairman of the Ca Mau People’s Committee, said that according to the approved plan, the Ca Mau-Dat Mui Expressway will be 90km long and have four lanes.

The People’s Committee of Ca Mau province is assigned to carry out the site clearance project independently from the expressway investment project (under the Ministry of National Defense). The Prime Minister has directed the expressway to be inaugurated on August 19, 2025, on the occasion of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

Mr. Bi said that more than 562 hectares of land are expected to be recovered for the expressway project, passing through 17 communes of 7 districts (Thoi Binh, Tran Van Thoi, Cai Nuoc, Phu Tan, Nam Can, Ngoc Hien). The expected site clearance cost is VND 2,028 billion, funded by the state budget.

“The Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee has reported to the Standing Committee, and the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has agreed on the policy of implementing the land recovery and clearance project for the expressway on an emergency basis to ensure the urgent progress,” said Mr. Bi.

At the conference, the Ca Mau Provincial Party Executive Committee decided to unify the contents of the proposal on the organization of the political system of Ca Mau province after the merger with Bac Lieu province.

The Provincial Party Standing Committee is assigned to direct the completion of the proposal contents and submit them to the competent authorities for consideration and implementation; prepare procedures and procedures for transferring functions and tasks from the district level to the commune level when not organizing the district-level government (expected from July 1, 2025).

Once the Ca Mau-Dat Mui Expressway is completed, the North-South Expressway in the East will connect to the southernmost region of the country.
